Hysteroscopic Removal - Forgotten IUCD (NL0021)

This video demonstrates the hysteroscopic removal of a forgotten Copper-T IUCD that had remained in situ for 22 years in a 65-year-old woman. The IUCD threads were not visible, and imaging confirmed an embedded, fragmented-appearing device within the uterus. Using a 2.9 mm office hysteroscope, the surgeon carefully identifies adhesions around the IUCD and demonstrates how hysteroscopic scissors can be used to dislodge the impacted arms before extraction. The narration emphasizes why forceful traction should be avoided and highlights the correct technique for removing the IUCD intact. This video provides valuable practical tips for managing difficult, long-retained intrauterine devices.
